Rain fury: Nine more die in Assam

A section of road washed away by floodwaters at Dhamdhama in Assam on Friday. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya received a bountiful 972 mm of precipitation in 24 hours, the highest in June since 1995 and the third highest in 122 years, the IMD said.
