Queen Elizabeth II, longest serving UK monarch, dead

Balmoral (UK): Queen Elizabeth II (96), Britain’s figurehead for seven decades, has died, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday. “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral,” it said in a statement.
