Nitin Gadkari chairs Infrastructure panel meet

New Delhi, August 24

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari today chaired the meeting of the 9th Group of Infrastructure Committee. The outstanding forest clearances regarding highway and other infra projects were discussed during the meeting.

The officers concerned were directed to expedite the process immediately. Land/ROW (right of way) policies of Railways and Road Transport and Highways and making comprehensive guidelines for environment and forest clearance were discussed at length.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw underlined the importance of new technologies and financial models for railways’ infrastructure enhancement and offered to work in close association with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). — TNS
