New Delhi, February 6

Amidst the commotion, Pro tem Speaker Satya Sharma adjourned the Delhi MC House till the next date.

This is for the third time the MCD house has been adjourned without getting the mayor.

The election results of MCD were declared on December 7, however, Delhi is yet to get its mayor.

As soon as the pro tem speaker announced that the nominated members would vote, AAP councillors stormed the House and a ruckus ensued. It is seen as a major setback for the AAP. However, the numbers are still with the AAP.

The mayor could not be elected when the councillors met on January 6 and 24 due to acrimonious exchanges between AAP and BJP leaders.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said the BJP is violating the MCD Act while trying to win the mayoral elections by allowing aldermen to vote.
