Monsoon Session of Parliament from July 18; politics over Agnipath scheme likely to dominate proceedings

The Monsoon Session of Parliament will be held from July 18.

The ninth session of the 17th Lok Sabha will be held from July 18 to August 12, subject to exigencies of business.

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats issued the session notification on Thursday.

Earlier, the session dates were recommended by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.

Politics over the new armed forces recruitment plan, Agnipath scheme, is expected to dominate the early part of the session with the opposition Congress continuing to call it anti-security and anti-youth.
