India pledges $1.5 lakh for UN peacebuilding

New Delhi: India has announced a pledge of $1.5 lakh for the UN Peacebuilding Fund so that the international community could look at peacebuilding in a more focused manner, said India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador TS Tirumurti said. India said normalisation of relations between Israel and Arab nations has the potential to provide necessary momentum for resumption of direct negotiations between Israel and Palestine. TNS

Govt hikes MSP of milling copra by Rs 375 per quintal

New Delhi: The government on Wednesday approved an increase in the minimum support price (MSP) of milling copra by Rs 375 per quintal and ball copra by Rs 300 per quintal to boost farmers’ income. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, has given its approval for the MSPs of copra for 2021 season. TNS
