House panel to be briefed on Agnipath

New Delhi: The Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Defence will be briefed on the Agnipath scheme by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the top-brass of the Ministry of Defence on July 11. BSF arrests four Pak fishermen

New Delhi: A BSF patrol team today caught four Pakistani fishermen and seized 10 boats from the 'Harami Nalla' creek area of Kutch along the India-Pakistan maritime boundary in Gujarat, a spokesperson said. He, however, contended that after search nothing suspicious had been recovered from the fishing boats. TNS

Babbar gets jail for attacking poll official

Lucknow: A court awarded two-year imprisonment to Bollywood actor and Congress leader Raj Babbar in a case involving the assault of a polling officer. Babbar was convicted for voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from performing his duty and three other offences. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 8,500 on him. The officer had lodged an FIR during an election in May 1996.
