New Delhi, July 15

The Supreme Court on Friday deferred to July 27 the hearing on CBI's plea challenging the Kerala HC order granting bail to former Kerala DGP Siby Mathews in a case relating to the ISRO spy scandal.

The HC had set aside the 60-day limit on the pre-arrest bail given to Mathews by the sessions court. The Bench sought tagging the plea with the one filed by the CBI against the grant of anticipatory bail by the HC to four police officials. The SC had issued notice on CBI's plea challenging the bail granted to the police officials in the 1994 case, in which scientist Nambi Narayanan was allegedly framed.
