Germany to ease travel ban from India

Germany has already announced that it will accept travellers vaccinated by Covishield and Covaxin doses.

Germany has announced that was easing the entry ban on travellers from India and four other countries where the Delta variant is widespread.

The German health agency said India, Nepal, Russia, Portugal and the UK, currently listed as virus variant countries, would be reclassified from Wednesday as "high-incidence areas".

Germany has already announced that it will accept travellers vaccinated by Covishield and Covaxin doses.

Though the change eases a ban on entry for non-German travellers, they will have to observe quarantine and testing rules

German Ambassador to India Walter Lindner said, "Promised to work hard on easing travel restrictions for travelers from IND and update you immediately. And voila: from tomorrow on Germany is removing entry ban and easing travel rules for five countries where the Delta variant is widespread, including India! Details soon on website....".
