New Delhi, November 25

The Congress-led Opposition will skip the Constitution Day celebrations in the Central Hall of Parliament on Friday.

Top Congress sources said the event was mere “tokenism anyway”. Party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh reached out to the larger Opposition to skip the celebrations after deciding that the party MPs would boycott it.

MPs of the Congress, TMC, SP, NCP, DMK, AAP, Shiv Sena, CPI, CPM, RSP, IUML, RJD and the JMM are expected to skip the event.

Sources in the TMC and Left parties said none of their MPs would be in New Delhi tomorrow. — TNS
