Hyderabad, July 4

A day after BJP’s Bhagyanagar pitch, Telangana state minister and TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday advised the saffron party to change the name of Ahmedabad in Gujarat to ‘Adanibad’.

Taking yet another dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, KTR also claimed that “backwardness of the so-called double engine States had made the BJP opt for a progressive place like Hyderabad for their meetings (National Executive)”.

The ‘Adanibad’ jibe came after the Prime Minister on Sunday referred to Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar in his address at the meeting.

Hitting back KTR wrote: “Why don’t you change Ahmedabad’s name to Adanibad first? Who is this Jhumla Jeevi by the way?”

Claiming that there was no element of surprise in BJP holding the meeting in Hyderabad, KTR alleged that “the real agenda of their meeting was to spread hatred and not talk about any innovative policies and schemes”.

While BJP regularly attacked Chief Minister KCR, accusing him of running “corrupt and dynastic” politics, TRS leaders too retaliated with equal and full force. KTR also took potshots, calling the meeting “circus”, the saffron party “WhatsApp University” and its leaders “jumla jeevis”.

Ahead of the meeting also he wrote to PM Modi and BJP leaders visiting Hyderabad to “study good administrative practices and implement them in their States”.
