Centre urged to restore Sardar Patel’s memorial near Jantar Mantar

Ahead of the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, a former Haryana Bureaucrat asks Centre to intervene and restore the Iron Man’s Memorial near Jantar Mantar here.

In a letter to Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, former Chief Engineer with the Public health Department of Haryana government RN Malik said he was pained at neglect of the monument, and that restoring it to its “pristine glory” will be a “befitting tribute” to the first home minister of the country.

Malik said, “In the letter I have requested the Urban Development Minister to personally come to the memorial site near Jantar Mantar here and see himself the sad plight of the monument and make efforts to restore it to its pristine glory”.
