The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has allowed students to take Class 10 and 12 board exams in the city or country of their choice in the light of growing COVID cases.

READ NOTIFICATION HERE

The board’s most recent notification says it's been brought to its notice that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a displacement of many students and parents to other cities and even other countries, making it difficult for them to take their exams at their registered centres.

Such students can ask their schools to change their centres for theory or practical exams, or both, the circular says. Students will have to make their preference of city or country known while asking for the change. They will need their roll numbers for this, CBSE’s Controller of Exams said in the notification.

Schools could  log on to the CBSE website and submit these details.

No changes will allowed once such a request is submitted, the notification said.

Students opting for a change of exam centres for both theory and practical examinations will have to appear for both in the same city.

In case there’s a student having COVID-19 who can’t appear for practical exams, the school could request a change of city from the same login id, the notification says.

Practical exams will be marked according to instructions from the school where the student took the exam, the notification said.

Students must make their requests by March 25, 2021, and their schools in turn must send in their requests to the board by March 31, 2021.

Results of such candidates will be declared by regional offices under which they registered, the notification says.

CBSE has already allowed schools to conduct practical examinations in three shifts.
