Anurag Thakur accuses Rahul Gandhi of ‘sowing seeds of hatred’, slams ‘bulldozers of hate’ remark

Amid the raging controversy over the use of bulldozers in BJP-ruled UP, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat and today by party-governed MCD in Delhi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has slammed Rahul Gandhi for his advice to the Narendra Modi government to “switch off bulldozers of hate” remark.

Accusing the Congress leader of “sowing the seeds of hatred”, Thakur said he was “maligning the name of the country”.

“Whose own history is proof of corruption and riots… you can only expect such statements from him. He is sowing the seeds of hatred… he is doing no good to the country, only maligning the country’s image,” Thakur said in response to Gandhi who alleged that India has a coal stock of only eight days remaining.

“Switch off the bulldozers of hate and switch on the power plants,” Gandhi asked the government. “Eight years of big talk has resulted in India having only 8 days of coal stocks. Modi Ji, stagflation is looming. Power cuts will crush small industries, leading to more job losses. Switch off the bulldozers of hate and switch on the power plants!” Gandhi tweeted.

Responding to the Aam Aadmi Party calling the BJP “party of goons”, the Union Minister said. “What do they say and do raises a question over them. They are the ones who compromise with the terrorists to be in power, what can be more unfortunate than that,” he said.

After the demolition drive in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone and Gujarat’s Khambhat and today in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, BJP’s Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao described JCB with “Jihad Control Board” in a tweet which he later deleted. While the BJP claimed that the demolitions had nothing to do with the religion, Rao’s tweet led to a major controversy and furor.
