BJP to focus on 'har ghar tiranga', reaching out to beneficiaries of pro-poor measures

“Har ghar tiranga” and reaching out to “labharthis” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pro-poor programmes, these will be part of the focus of the ruling BJP in the months leading to the 2024 General Election.

Briefing about the meeting of office-bearers headed by party president JP Nadda, held on Saturday,  former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said  “har ghar tiranga  karyakram” would be turned into an “andolan” (mass movement) to reach 20 crore people in different parts of the country.

Office-bearers also discussed ways to reach out to 30 crore “labharthis” of various pro-poor schemes. 

The BJP has benefited from PM's social welfare schemes in the recent elections. 

Meanwhile, the party will also pass political and economic resolutions on current situation.

Quoting Nadda, Raje said the party appreciated PM's “gareeb kalyan yojnas”.

“At a time when the word economy is in doldrums, India's economy is 8.7 per cent and moving,” she added.

The meeting also stressed on leaders undertaking “pravaas” (tours), meeting people and reaching out to booth-level cadres.

“It is important to strengthen the booths, coordinate with booth adhyaksh who can take the party's message forwards,” Raje said. 

“Every booth there will be 200 active karyakartas and join them on WhatsApp groups. Booth strengthening will be reviewed periodically,” she said. 

Calling the party’s “antodaya” programme equally important, she said “two resolutions will be passed, one political and the other on the economic situation and gareeb kalian”.

A statement will also be issued on the situation of Telengana.
