BJP prepares to go ‘virtual’ for upcoming Bihar elections as well

The party has started preparing by identifying prominent people in every constituency

Going virtual and digital for its one-month-long activities to mark the completion of one-year of the Narendra Modi government 2.0 on May 30, the BJP will be using the new form of ‘samvaad’ (dialogue/communication) even in its campaign for the Bihar elections slated later this year.

Addressing a press conference regarding the virtual rallies, meetings and reach-out programmes the leadership has planned to mark the completion of one year of the government in amid the Covid-19 restrictions, BJP General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav said the new methods of ‘samvaad’ can also be used in Bihar elections.

Responding to a question about the elections slated for later this year and about which the buzz is that they may be postponed due to Covid-19 situation, Yadav said the BJP was ready for the polls whenever they are held

“The dates will be decided by the Election Commission of India but the party is preparing for the elections whenever they are held. For campaign the new methods (virtual rallies/meetings) of dialogue can be used keeping in mind the important aspect of social distancing,” he said  

Meanwhile, sources say the party has already started by identifying prominent persons in every constituency who can spread the message to the grassroots. The party has a firm grip on booths but it also knows that it may have to improvise in mind the current situations  

‘Mandals’ have been told to identify these key persons who can act as a bridge and influence voters and whom the top leadership from the State and the national level can also directly communicate  to ascertain the ground situation, the sources  

The BJP will hold a month-long programme starting from June to mark the first anniversary of the Modi 2.0 government and hold digital rallies in all districts across the country.
