PM TO review situation in 7 high-load states

PM Narendra Modi will virtually review the Covid situaton in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, UP, TN, Delhi and Punjab on Wednesday. These states contribute over 63% of active cases, 65.5% of confirmed cases and 77% of fatalities.

The 24-hour recoveries crossed one lakh for the first time, reaching 1,01,468 while new cases fell to 75,809.

The daily recoveries have outstripped daily cases for the fourth straight day for the first time since May. The new cases have also progressively reduced for four days. If these trends hold, the disease graph would start declining, say health officials. — TNS
