A child should always be encouraged to communicate openly with his/her own family members. Schools channelise energy of young brigade
Minna Zutshi

Schools and colleges can play a major role in channelising the energy of the young brigade. If given the right direction, the youngsters have a tremendous potential to bring positive changes in society. Unfortunately, drugs, violence and related issues are sapping the young energy and creating situations that have far-reaching ramifications.

According to the World Assembly of Youth (the international coordinating body of national youth councils and national youth organisations), “human development and human rights are two concepts that go hand in hand”. “The two are interrelated in a way that they both emphasize on the importance of human freedom and privileges. In order to develop young people, it is important to enlarge their human capabilities by ensuring they have great access to knowledge and skills, that they have better nutrition and health, they have secure livelihoods and they have access to basic social services.”

Access to education, improved working conditions and participation of the youngsters in activities that are meaningful – all can play a pivotal role in channelising the young energy. If the youngsters are active in social activities, there are very few chances of such youngsters going astray.
