After wandering through the hills of Kasauli and Shimla around the New Year celebrations, music directors, singers and composers Meet Bros, Manmeet and Harmeet, rekindled their Lohri memories as they were in tricity to perform at an event in Zirakpur on Lohri night. Manmmet says, “I have travelled to many places and recently been to Switzerland, but Shimla is no less a place than Switzerland. I enjoy my stay in North India and have lived in Mohali. Since the day I have arrived in the city, I am meeting all my friends and visiting all the places I like.”

Harmeet adds, “Chandigarh means the geri route, music and our favourite food joints. We both are foodies and recently tried tikki and other street food from all our favourite places. We are reliving our young days here.”

Meet Bros has given the industry popular songs like Baby Doll, Ishq Da Sutta, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan and many others. With their recent release of soundtracks from the movie Shimla Mirch, which stars Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh, the brothers have already started the year 2020 on a high note.

Ask them what do they think will rule this year and Manmeet says, “I think it is time to go back to original tracks. Bollywood in past few years highly banked on Punjabi music and, of course, old songs. We all know it did not work and people still liked the original compositions over the remixed versions. So, in short, the craze for remixes will die out.”

The Meet brothers are coming up with a wedding song with Urvashi Rautela which they say will be released soon. About the Punjabi artistes, Harmeet says, “I think they are doing great work. They are working hard and bringing originality to the craft which is why their work has paid off in Bollywood.”

“I like young singers like Maninder Buttar. It is good that we have all kinds of singers in Punjab and now the need of the hour is to make all kinds of music and work on all genres,” adds Manmeet.
