Youth, lover commit suicide

A youth and his lover allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Naulari village last night. They were cousins. They left a suicide note in which they have blamed no one for their action and wished to be buried together.

The youth (23) and his lover (17) lived close by. Last night, both of them consumed poison in their respective homes and their families came to know about it when both started vomiting. They were rushed to separate hospitals at Khanna where both died. Police teams, led by Bardhalan chowki in-charge Balbir Singh and Samrala SHO Sikander Singh, visited the spot and took the bodies in their custody. The police recovered a suicide note from the spot that was written jointly by the couple. The suicide note says no one should be held responsible for this act.

The SHO said post-mortem examination of the bodies was going on at Civil Hospital, Khanna. No case has been registered, said the SHO.
