Office-bearers and activists of various units of Youth Congress, Amargarh Assembly segment, organised rallies, marches and dharnas in Malerkotla and Sangrur districts to protest inflation. The protesters burnt effigies of the Union Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sangrur district president Govinder Singh Khangura and Amargarh unit president Preet Pal Singh Rubal led the protest in their respective constituencies.

Besides resenting rise in prices of petrol and diesel, the party workers protested against the “defective policies of the Union Government making necessities of life beyond the reach of common man”.

They also condemned the government’s failure to make sufficient arrangements for undertaking treatment and vaccination against Covid-19 and flayed the three controversial farm laws.
