Ludhiana, December 8

Activists of Youth Akali Dal (YAD), led by Gurdeep Singh Gosha today mocked Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in a novel manner by making a ‘dummy’ CM run a race with cycle rickshaw. The protesters said in this rocket age when space crafts were landing on Moon and Mars, Channi was befooling people by recounting his days when he had pulled a rickshaw or repaired an electric fault by climbing atop the pole.

Addressing party workers, Gosha said rather than working towards development of the state and redressing other crucial issues like inflation and unemployment, Channi seemed to be more interested in getting cheap publicity through gimmicks and irrelevant talk.

“Now that Assembly elections are due in Punjab, the Chief Minister ought to tell people about his party’s achievements during its five-year term. He must apprise people with number of bridges and new roads constructed during the Congress rule and also discuss other poll promises, which the ruling party had failed to fulfil,” said YAD leader.
