Wife dupes man of Rs 38 lakh

A woman, in connivance with her parents, duped her husband of Rs 38 lakh. She allegedly got married with him to usurp his money.

The suspects have been identified as Harvinder Kaur, her father Ranjit Singh, mother Bhupinder Kaur and brother Mandeep Singh, residents of Akalgarh.

The complainant, Niranjan Singh of Dholan village, told the police that his son Navdeep Singh got married to Harvinder. After marriage, she went to Australia on a study basis and Navdeep had spent the entire money to send her to Australia.

A few months later, she also called her husband to Australia and he continued to give her money as she used to demand money on one pretext or other.

The complainant said his son had also bought a house, a car and other valuables for his wife in Australia. Later, the woman had also called her mother and brother to Australia.

Despite taking big amount of money from his son, she, along with her parents, started torturing him and continued to demand more money from him. The suspects had also thrown his son out of the house in Australia.

He said the suspects had duped his son of Rs 38 lakh so far.

The complainant had submitted a complaint to the Ludhiana rural police following which the Dakha DSP had conducted a probe in the matter and found the suspects guilty.
