Webinar on 75th I-Day organised at Government College for Girls, Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Youth Club, Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, organised a webinar to commemorate the 75th Independence Day, under the aegis of Principal Sukhwinder Kaur. Inderpreet Kaur from the Department of Music welcomed the resourceperson, Karamjit Kaur, assistant professor from Department of Punjabi Historical Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr Karamjit introduced participants to pre and post partition situation and how women suffered during these times. She focused on the role played by the people from Punjab during freedom struggle, current Punjab, re-organisation of the state and demographic changes that took place in the past 75 years.

I-Day celebrated in unique way

For celebrating the 75th Independence Day, faculty and students of hotel management, airlines and tourism departments at CT University, in association with two private firms, attempted for the Limca Book of Records by making 75 varieties of biryani. Sukhwinder Bindra, Chairman, Punjab Youth Development Board, was the chief guest.

7-day NSS camp organised

Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management organised a seven-day NSS camp. A total of 42 students volunteered for the camp and participated in various activities. “The camp was organised to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. Eye check-up camp, orthopaedic camp, tree plantation and cleanliness drives were held in two of the adopted villages,” officiating principal Marinal Gupta said.

Teej celebrated with zest

Teej was celebrated with fervour at Gulzar Group of Institutes. Mehndi, rangoli, makeover, pot painting, tattoo making, card making, photography and nail art competition caught fancy of all. Executive director Gurkirat Singh guided the students to celebrate such traditional festivals so as to keep them alive among the present generation. TNS
