Webinar dwells on cyber crimes

Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) and Duke Fashions organised a national-level webinar on cyber security to aware users of cyber scams and frauds.

Cyber crimes are happening every 10 minutes in the country and Indian users need to be aware about such online scams.

The webinar was conducted by internationally acclaimed cyber security expert and consultant Rakshit Tandon. Tandon is advisor to various government organisations such as Haryana Police, Telangana Police and consultant to the Internet and Mobile Association of India.

The webinar was helpful and it focused on protection of mobile devices from cyber attacks, business emails, websites and applications, Internet banking and digital wallets and debit/credits cards and cyber laws and redressal.

It was sponsored by Komal Kumar Jain, chairman, Duke Fashions India Limited. It was held live on Zoom app and JITO’s Ludhiana Facebook page. It got a good response as the participation was over 2,000 people from cities across the country. Komal Kumar Jain and Bhushan Jain, chairman, JITO, thanked all participants and asked everyone to utilise information provided through the webinar and secure themselves from cyber frauds.

Tandon discussed about cyber attacks and thefts. He shared information on how to protect your personal email id and data in your mailbox and advised users to enable two-factor authentication security options on their email accounts and social media accounts. He shared different case studies on ATM and debit card frauds, where he discussed protection of ATM cards and PIN from online and ATM machine-based frauds. He also discussed online payment gateway and online UPI payments’ related frauds and he advised users not to scan any kind of unknown codes on their phone for receiving and sending payments. He also spoke about protection of emails and computer systems from viruses such as Ransomware.
