Two peddlers held with drugs in Ludhiana

The police have nabbed two drug peddlers in separate cases and recovered drugs from them.

In the first case, the Basti Jodhewal police nabbed a drug peddler identified as Mohd Imran of New Basant Vihar and recovered 205 gm of heroin from his possession.

The investigation officer, ASI Makhan Singh, said a police party was patrolling Noorwala Road where they received a tip-off about notorious smuggler on way to deliver consignment of drugs to his clients.

Accordingly, a naka was laid on Noorwala Road where a motorcycle was stopped for checking. Later, during search of the belongings of the bike-borne person, 205 gm of heroin was recovered from him.

A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused and further probe was on to bust the entire supply line, the ASI added.

In the second case, the police Division No. 7 arrested a drug peddler and recovered 8 gm of narcotic powder from his possession. The suspect has been identified as Rajiv Kumar of Lotus Enclave. The investigation officer, ASI Rachpal Singh, said on receiving secret information about a peddler on his way to deliver consignment of narcotic powder a naka was laid near Green Land School cut. The suspect was stopped at the naka for checking and narcotic powder was recovered from him.

The police are trying to trace the aides of the suspect.
