Two booked for Rs 5.8-lakh fraud

Ludhiana: The Division 3 police have booked two businessmen for allegedly duping a resident of Rs 5.80 lakh. The suspects have been identified as Subash Tripathi of Tajpur Road and Nikhil Gupta of PN Fabrics in Panipat. The complainant, Lekhraj, owner of a factory on Gaushala Road, said in 2018, he had given Rs5.80 lakh to the suspects against an order for blankets, but the suspects failed to despatch the goods. They also refused to return the money paid against the order. TNS

One booked for abducting girl

Ludhiana: The Division 5 police have booked a youth on the charge of kidnapping a 17-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her. The complainant, who is a resident of Jawahar Nagar Camp, told the police that on July 9, his daughter, who was alone at home, was kidnapped by the suspect. TNS

Foetus found dumped in plot

Ludhiana: A shopkeeper noticed stray dogs feeding on a foetus at New Gurnam Nagar on Saturday. The shopkeeper, Lalit Kumar informed the police who shifted the foetus to the Civil Hospital. The police suspect a couple in an illicit relationship might have dumped the foetus in the plot. TNS
