Ludhiana, August 12

A 35-year-old truck driver was found murdered in Khanna on Thursday. The incident came to light when his body was noticed by a nearby dhaba owner. The deceased Rachpal Singh was a native of Jammu.

As per information, the driver, along with his helper, was headed to Ambala. When he reached Libra village near Khanna, he reportedly had a tiff with some persons on the highway, which led to his murder.

The police suspect that the victim could have met with a minor accident on the highway with some vehicle following which the scuffle took place and he got killed. Even the helper of Rachpal also suffered injuries and was undergoing treatment at the Khanna Civil Hospital.

DSP Parminder Singh said the exact cause of murder would be known once the helper of the driver would regain consciousness. —TNS
