Top cop asks residents to be Mission Warriors

Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal today went live on the official Facebook page of the Ludhiana Police to apprise the residents about the Mission Fateh which has been aimed at winning the battle against Covid-19. He explained the Mission Warriors scheme under which people following the Covid-19 norms and motivating others to do so would get rewards and recognition.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Headquarters and Security, Akhil Chaudhary, spoke about the programmes of the police with respect to the Mission Fateh.

“Mission Warriors are being recruited from the public. To become a Mission Warrior, one just have to follow all Covid precautions as also motivate others to follow simple things such as wearing masks, maintaining the distance of two metre, washing hands with soap for 20 seconds, building immunity and mostly staying at home,” said Agrawal.

Queries will also be asked on the app and Mission Warriors will get weekly and monthly prizes.

How to become a Mission Warrior

Agrawal said to become a Mission Warrior, an aspirant should first install the COVA app of Punjab on his mobile and also motivate his relatives and residents to do the same. After installing the app, he should open the Mission Fateh link, which will help the authorities in detecting the spread of Covid. He should then post his selfie (wearing a mask) to motivate others. The aspirant should spread awareness on avoiding crowded places and maintaining physical distance of two metre.

Agrawal said the police were distributing masks to poor and needy people and ensuring that circles were drawn at shops, banks, offices etc. He, however, warned that if people did not follow the rules, then the police would issue challans for violations such as not wearing masks and not maintaining social distancing.

Awareness march

The police took out an awareness march in the city. They distributed masks to the needy and made announcements in the crowded areas about the need to follow social distancing and other Covid guidelines. The police also motivated 12,000 people to install the COVA app on their mobiles. Commissioner of Police Rakesh Agrawal, DCP Akhil Chaudhary, ADCP Deepak Pareek, ACP Waryam Singh and others took part in the awareness march.
