Three private firm staffers booked for Rs 2.47-cr fraud

Ludhiana, August 6

The Sarabha Nagar police yesterday registered a case of fraud and forgery against three employees of Godawari Motors, Ferozepur Road. The accused by tampering with account books, defrauded the company of Rs 2.47 crore.

The accused had been identified as Asim Suri of UP, Sona Kumar of Badewal Awana and Dalip Kumar of the Giaspura park area.

Complainant Varinder Kumar of Godawari Motors in a complaint said the accused had been working in the company for a long time. The trio had collected Rs 2.47 crore in the past over sometime on the behalf of the company from clients. The accused instead of depositing the amount in the company accounts, made fake enteries in ledger books.

The complainant said the fraud came to the fore when the company accounts were checked and records were found tampered. Investigating officer ASI Jagjit Singh said after registering a case, further probe was launched in the matter.
