Three land in police net with drugs

The police have arrested three persons and recovered drugs from them in separate incidents.

In the first case, the Machhiwara police yesterday nabbed Sukhjinder Singh Bunty, a resident of Ravidas mohalla, Machhiwara, and recovered 180 intoxicating tablets from his possession.

Investigating officer ASI Tarsem Kumar said a police party was conducting a routine patrolling near Ravidas mohalla where a pedestrian was seen carrying a polythene bag.

On suspicion, he was stopped for checking and during search, 180 intoxicating tablets were found. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the suspects and further probe was on to bust the entire supply line.

The Khanna city police nabbed Kulwinder Singh, alias Bindi, of Kauri village in Khanna and recovered 10 gm of some drug powder from his possession. Investigating officer Inspector Kuljinder Singh said during routine patrolling in Khanna, a man coming from the Khamano side was stopped for checking and 10 gm of drug powder was seized from him.

In another incident, the Payal police arrested a man, Amandeep Sharma, a resident of Rara Sahib, and seized 20 gm of drug powder from his possession. ASI Satpal Singh said on suspicion, the man was stopped near the Khudani Khurd bus stand and during frisking, drug powder was seized. The police said a case had been registered against the suspect.
