Three brothers snatch gold chain, loot cash; 1 arrested

Three brothers, identified as Rock, Sunny and Naresh Sethi, all residents of Bindra Colony, allegedly snatched a golden chain from the wife of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Bazigar Basti, outside a private clinic on Bahadurke Road after threatening her with a toy pistol. They also injuring Ashok Kumar with a sharp weapon when he intervened to save his wife.

After snatching the gold chain and injuring husband of the victim, the trio struck at a fast food shop of another Ashok Kumar on Kali Sarak on the same evening after about half an hour and took away Rs 15,000 from his cash box and his purse containing important documents by threatening the complainant with a sharp weapon.

The police said the three suspects have been booked under Sections 379-B (2)/34 of the IPC and 392/34 of the IPC for the two offences. Naresh has been arrested. One toy pistol and a “datar” (sharp weapon) have been recovered from his possession, the police added.

Chain snatched from woman

Bimla Devi (73), a resident of Harcharan Nagar, lost her 12-gm gold chain to two motorcycle-borne snatchers while she was coming back after a walk. Arun Binani, son of the victim, told the police that his mother had almost reached her house when she was accosted by the snatchers who pulled away the chain from her neck. The unknown snatchers have been booked under section 379-B of the IPC.
