Teenager dies in road accident on Dugri Canal Bridge

Ludhiana: Naresh Kumar (17), riding a motorcycle with two others, died on the spot after suffering grievous head injuries when a speeding vehicle hit the motorcycle from behind on Dugri Canal Bridge at midnight on Sunday. In a complaint lodged with the police, Pawandeep Singh, resident of Manjit Nagar, said he, along with his friends Amandeep Singh and Naresh Kumar, was going on a motorcycle (PB-10DC-7518) to drop Amandeep at his residence. “When we reached the Dugri Canal bridge, a speeding vehicle came from behind and hit the moto cycle knocking all of us down. Naresh was critically injured and died on the spot,” said the complainant. The police have registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC. oc

Mobile phone snatched

Ludhiana: A man, Kulwinder Singh lost his mobile phone to snatchers on Machhiwara Road at Panjeta village on Sunday. Kulwinder complained to the police that he was returning home after finishing some painting work at Panjeta village when two motorcycle-borne persons snatched a mobile phone from him near a petrol pump and fled. He said the registration number of the motorcycle was PB-02CD-6025. The police have registered a case under Sections 379-B and 34 of the IPC. OC
