SUV rams into stationary truck, driver dies on spot

Couldn’t spot truck in time due to fog at Biza

A man was killed when the vehicle he was driving rammed into a stationary truck from behind amid low visibility due to fog. The deceased has been identified as Joginder Singh (30), a resident of Pangarpur village, near Dera Bassi.

According to information, the truck broke down near Biza. The truck driver got off the vehicle and started flashing a warning signal. A Bolero driver coming at a high speed could not stop in time and went on to ram the truck. He died on the spot.

The investigation officer, ASI Charanjit Singh, of Kottan police post, said the body was extricated from the Bolero wreck with difficulty. A case has been registered against the truck driver. OC
