Supreet, Fanta adjudged best athletes of PCTE

Supreet Singh, a student of BBA II, and Fanta of BBA I were named the best athletes in the boys and girls sections, respectively, in the 17th Annual Athletics Meet of the Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) held at its ground at Baddowal near here today.

The students representing BCA final year secured maximum points to lift the overall trophy.

Amitej Singh, chief coordinator, said: “Through such events, we help our students learn values of life which get imbibed into their thinking, thus, enabling them succeed in all walks of life.”

Dr KNS Kang, Director General of PCTE Group of Institutes, appreciated the efforts of athletes and said events like these help the students to develop their overall personality and motivate students to participate on a regular basis to have a healthy lifestyle.

Results

Shot put (girls): Fanta (BBA I) first, Prabhleen (BBA II) second and Anjana (B Pharmacy III) third.

Shot put (boys): Arjun Ghai (BBA II) first, Bhawjeet (BCA III) second and Terry (B Tech I) third.

Long jump (girls): Fanta (BBA I) first, Gurjot Kaur (Bio Tech II) second and Simranpreet Kaur (B Pharma II) third.

Long jump (boys): Balkaran (BTTM I) first, Jagjeet Singh (B Sc Agriculture II) second and Seeisso (BCA I) third.

Triple jump (boys): Balkaran (BTTM I) first, Jagjeet Singh (B Sc Agriculture II) second and Abhishek Sharma (B Com I) third.

4x400-m relay race: MLS I first, BCA III second and BPharmacy III third.

100-m race (girls): Fanta (BBA I) first, Sewa Kamara (BBA II) second and Flora (BBA I) third.

100-m race (boys): Supreet Singh (BBA II) first, Jose (BBA I) second and Emmanuel (MLS II) third.
