Students shine in exams

Ludhiana: The students of MSc (Mathematics), Semester I and II, of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, did the college proud by proving their brilliance in university exams. Harpreet Kaur brought laurels to the college by securing 8th position in Panjab University, Chandigarh, and 1st position in the college with 93.20 per cent marks. The Principal Dr Rajwinder Kaur Hundal congratulated the students as well as the teachers for their hard work and showered her blessings on them to be successful in future as well.

Devki Devi Jain Memorial College

The students of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women brought laurels to the college by performing well in the examination of BCA-semester III. Muskan Jindal bagged 9th position in Panjab University and 7th in District by securing 86.4% marks. Dr Sarita Bahl, Principal of the college congratulated the students on their brilliant performance in exams, wished them bright future and appreciated the sincere efforts of the staff. Computer science student Girish Jain of Arya College clinched first position in Panjab University by attaining 90.13 percent in BCA third semester. College Principal and managing committee wished all the best to Girish Jain.

Fit India Cyclothon held

A Fit India cyclothon was organised at Kamla Lohtia SD College, Ludhiana, by its NSS unit. This event was organised as per the directions of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, as a step towards realising the dream of a healthy nation - Fit India. Principal Dr Mukesh Kumar Mahajan flagged off the rally. Students from different streams participated in this cycle rally and visited the surroundings areas so as to create awareness among citizens regarding the ways and essentiality to remain fit and healthy.

Poster-making competition

The Legal Literacy Club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised a poster making competition with the theme ‘Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy’ today. Students from different streams participated in the campaign with great zeal and enthusiasm. They were also motivated about their electoral rights. Students were given various topics like 'Be a smart Voter', 'No Voter be left Behind' and 'Women Constitution' for the competition. Manminder Kaur of BA II grabbed 1st position, 2nd position went into the hands of Gurdeep of B Sc (II) and 3rd position seized by Harkirat of MA II. TNS
