Speeding car injures three

Ludhiana: Three pedestrians suffered injuries after a speeding and rashly driven car rammed into them on the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) campus here on Tuesday night. The injured, who were BSc students, were referred to the DMCH for treatment where their condition was stated to be out of danger. As per information, the three students of the PAU, Lovepreet, Gurnoor and Pritpal, were returning to their hostel rooms after having dinner at the university’s mess. When they came out of the mess, a speedy car rammed into them from the rear side. After the incident, the car driver abandoned the vehicle on the spot and escaped. Later, some passers-by, who witnessed the incident, rushed the victims to the hospital. Sources said a student of the PAU was driving the car and he was reportedly drunk. Sekhon gets charge of Zonal Commissioner

Ludhiana: MC Secretary Jasdev Singh Sekhon has been given charge of Zonal Commissioner of Zone A. MC’s Zonal Commissioner of Zone C Neeraj Jain has also been given an additional charge of Zone D. MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal has issued an order in this regard on Wednesday. TNS
