Six arrested for assault on firm owner in Ludhiana

The police have arrested six persons for an assault on a firm owner, while four persons were booked for an assault on two friends in the city.

Narinder Kumar, an employee of a firm, Haryana Traders, in Kachi Gali, near Dal Bazar, along with his 10-12 accomplices, attacked his employer Kishore Kumar after a telephonic conversation about his absence from duty.

Ujjwal Bansal, son of Kishore Kumar, said in a complaint to the police that the assailants allegedly beat up other employees also, snatched a golden chain from his neck and ransacked the shop. He said with the help of onlookers and others, six persons were overpowered and handed over to the police. The arrested persons were identified as Ramesh Kumar, Dalip Kumar, Aneesh Kumar, Tinku Kumar, Ramji Rawat and Anoop Kumar, all residents of Shivpuri.

The police have registered a case under Sections 451, 323, 147 and 149 of the IPC and other accused, including Narinder Kumar, are being traced.

The police have booked four persons, Rayees, resident of Samrat Colony, Aniket, resident of Shukar Mandi, Ajay and Kishna, residents of Sunday Market, Sua Road, under Sections 323, 341, 506 and 34 of the IPC for an alleged assault on Israel Ali, resident of Prem Nagar, Rudra Enclave, and his friend Hitesh due to old enmity.

Israel complained to the police that he and Hitesh were returning home from the Dhandari Kalan side on a motorcycle when the accused persons accosted them near Sitara Cinema and assaulted them. — OC
