Servant decamps with cash, pistol

The Kotwali police have registered a case under section 381 of the IPC and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act against Tarun Kumar, a resident of Awaas Vikas Colony, Sikandra, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and at present residing near Amritsar bus stand, on a complaint of his employer Anil Kumar, a resident of Vrindavan Garden, Amritsar.

Anil told the police that he had come to Ludhiana on Monday for purchasing shawls and woollens. On reaching Mamta Shawl Bhandar in Mochpura Bazaar, he handed over his bag containing cash, a mobile phone and a licensed pistol, to his servant Tarun Kumar (who was accompanying him) as he wanted to go to a washroom. When he came back, Tarun had disappeared with his bag. The police are investigating the matter. — OC

Trust betrayed
