Rs4.32 cr released for projects in Raikot areas, says MP

Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh Boparai dedicated development projects being undertaken at various localities of the erstwhile state of Raikot to residents of the area.

Funds amounting to Rs 4.32 crore were released for development projects, including moderanisation of the bus stand, sewerage drain and interlocking work in streets, claimed Dr Boparai.

The MP, who inaugurated the work on laying of sewerage drain near Maszid Road (Rs 13 lakh) and interlocking work (Rs 19 lakh), near the Talwandi road, said a grant of Rs 4 crore had already been released for the modernisation of the bus stand and the work was expected to start soon.

“We are fortunate that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has already advised the authorities concerned to focus more on development of those localities which have been ignored till now,” said Dr Boparai, maintaining that various departments had been advised to ensure speedy execution of the projects being undertaken in the Raikot subdivision.
