Remain extra careful during winters

The festive season is the time to keep up the guard against the Covid-19 pandemic. The Prime Minister too has cautioned the people against lowering their guard. He has appealed to the people to wear masks and take precautions and observe safety protocols. Though our recovery rate is better than others, the threat of corona is not yet over. We have to exercise caution.

Covering face with mask or cloth, maintaining six-feet distance, washing hands frequently, not spitting anywhere, maintaining proper hygiene are the weapons that will shield us from the pandemic. This is the time to remember that we should not act carelessly. Neither should we let others be careless. We have to fight the battle against Covid-19 with absolute alertness and vigilance.

Safe celebration of festivals is absolutely essential. Experts have been warning of a second wave of Covid-19 in winters. If there is laxity in observing precautionary measures, a second wave of Covid-19 cannot be ruled out.

“The world is now at a critical juncture in the Covid-19 pandemic and some countries are on a dangerous path, facing the prospect of health services collapsing under the strain,” the head of the World Health Organization said on Friday. He said: “The next few months are going to be very tough and some countries are on a dangerous track.”
