Religious leader Baba Jaswant Singh Nanaksar passes away

Religious leader Baba Jaswant Singh from Gurdwara Nanaksar, Samrala Bypass Chowk, founder chairman of Sri Guru Amar Das Hospital, Sector 32, and BJS Dental College and Hospital, Ludhiana, breathed his last on November 20. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital here for a day.

His last rites were performed at Sri Guru Amar Das Hospital Ground today.

Baba Jaswant Singh was a noted and widely respected religious leader who was followed by people due to his selfless services.

During his lifetime, he not only brought many individuals towards spirituality, but also impressed upon them that hard work and service of humanity must accompany all spiritual pursuits.

He was instrumental in setting up the BJS Dental College, Ludhiana, in 1998.

Under his guidance, the Baba Jaswant Singh Trust is currently engaged in building a 500-bed Sri Guru Amar Das Super Specialty Hospital at Sector 32, Urban Estate,including a medical college. The Trust provides free langar daily and free lodging facility to the needy.

A condolence meeting to mourn his demise was held at the BJS Dental College and Hospital, Ludhiana, by staff, students and the management.
