The police have booked the truck driver, Tara Chand, a resident of Karimpura village, near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, under sections 279/304-A/427 of the IPC on a complaint of Rohit Kumar, a resident of Ashok Nagar. The complainant said his brother Rajat Sharma (28) was coming back after dropping his wife at school on his motorcycle when a speeding truck rammed his bike. The driver abandoned his truck and fled the scene, he added.

“The front tyre of the truck ran over my brother’s arm and the limb was severed. Rajat was rushed to the DMC Hospital where the doctors declared him dead,” the complainant told the police.
