Ludhiana DC Varinder Sharma unveils ‘Ran Yodhe’ booklet

To mark Armed Forces Flag Day, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Varinder Kumar Sharma has unveiled a booklet, ‘Ran Yodhe’, on facilities available for ex-servicemen, at his camp office here.

During the customary launch of Armed Forces Flag Day, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, superintendent, District Defence Services Welfare Officer, Ludhiana, pinned a flag brooch on the Deputy Commissioner to start the flag fund raising ceremony.

The DC urged all residents to donate funds for families of martyrs, Army personnel disabled during war and for war widows.

The DC said, “On this day, fellow countrymen remember sacrifices made by Army personnel for the country and donate funds under Armed Forces Flag Day. These funds are used for the welfare of the families of martyrs, veterans and ex-servicemen.”—TNS
