Railways to run 9 more pairs of special trains in region

Ludhiana, December 27

After restoration of cancelled, partially cancelled and diverted trains in the region during the agitation by farmers, the Northern Railway authorities have announced to run nine more pairs of special trains to enhance connectivity to Amritsar, Jammu and Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra, in the region.

Northern Railway Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Ferozepur Division said one pair of (02425/26) New Delhi-Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (daily) and one pair of (02925/26) Bandra Terminus-Amritsar-Bandra Terminus (daily) had already commenced their regular run while rest of the trains would be made operational in the next couple of days.

Among other trains to become operational soon are (04609/10) Rishikesh-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Rishikesh Hemkunt Express (daily), (09805/06) Kota-Udhampur-Kota Special Weekly Express (on Thursday from Udhampur and on Wednesday from Kota) and (04651/52) Jaynagar-Amritsar-Jaynagar Humsafar Express (on Sunday, Tuesday, Friday from Jaynagar and on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday from Amritsar).

Four other pairs of trains to commence their run are (04671/72) Bandra Terminus-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Bandra Terminus Swaraj Express (on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday from Bandra Terminus and on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday from Mata Vaishno Devi Katra); (04675/76) Gandhinagar-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Gandhinagar Sarvodaya Express (on Saturday from Gandhinagar and on Thursday from Mata Vaishno Devi Katra); (04677/78) Hapa-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Hapa Sarvodaya Express (on Tuesday from Hapa and on Monday from Mata Vaishno Devi Katra); (04679/80) Jamnagar-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Jamnagar Sindhu Special Express (on Wednesday from Jamnagar and on Sunday from Mata Vaishno Devi Katra).
