Promoting green building concepts

Ludhiana: The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) launched its student chapter at GNDEC School of Architecture to promote green building concepts in the country. The IGBC is a council which works to enable sustainable built environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global leaders in sustainable built environment by 2025. Col Shailesh Pathak, Co-Chairman, IGBC, Chandigarh Chapter, gave a presentation on ‘Glass as a Sustainable Building Material’. Kanav Khosla presented his office projects to the audience which were appreciated by all the students and faculty.

Int’l Olympic Day celebrated

International Olympic Day was observed at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar branch. Rachna, a physical education teacher, focused on the importance of the day. She said the aim of celebrating the day was to promote the participation of people-irrespective o age, caste and relion in games and encourage to perform physical exercises regularly. Principal Ranju Mangal motivated students that games not only keep us physically sound but also help in imbibing many values such as honesty, team spirit and discipline etc.
