Online symposium on foreign trade, Covid held

Ludhiana, June 24

The Department of Economics and FTPP of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana, organised a two-day national symposium on ‘Covid-19 and India’s Foreign Trade - Opportunities and Issues’ online. The Indian economy and challenges faced by it during this Covid-19 crisis were discussed during the symposium.

Goel, former Vice-Chancellor, JNU, Jaipur, also addressed the guests.

Sarvesh Kaushal delivered the presidential address by emphasising on the theme of the symposium. He mainly emphasised on the economy of India and China and suggested various policy measures to improve the India’s foreign trade.

Prof Madan Mohan Goel, former Vice-Chancellor, JNU, Jaipur, emphasised the need of loans for exporters of sufficient quantum on zero rate of interest and to say ‘no’ to second-hand imported technology for overcoming the Covid challenges.

Dr Rajib Bhattacharyya, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata, discussed ‘Trade Openness and Economic Growth of India vs China’.
