One nabbed for gambling

Ludhiana: One person, identified as Adarsh of New Anand Colony, was arrested by the police from near Shivpuri Chowk on Sunday while alluring people for gambling. The police have recovered Rs 1,400 in cash from the accused who has been booked under Sections 13A, 3 and 67 of the Gambling Act. OC

Man held with illicit liquor

Ludhiana: The police have arrested Gurnam Singh, a resident of Manjit Nagar from Bholewal Jadeed village on Sunday with 20 bottles of illicit liquor. A police party on patrol near Ladhowal Food Park had stopped the accused, who was riding a scooter, on suspicion. The search led to the recovery of a plastic can containing around 20 bottles of illicit liquor. The accused has been booked under Sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act. oc
