One dead, 5 test positive in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, September 6

Five persons tested positive for Covid, while one person lost his life to the disease today. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has reached 97.58 per cent. There were 27 active patients in the district.

A total of six patients — five from Ludhiana and one from other state/district — have tested positive in the last 24 hours. The person who lost his life was 57-year-old man from Fatehpur Bet, Maachiwara, Ludhiana district.

Till date, a total of 23,28,518 samples have been taken, of which 22,29,368 samples were found negative. The total number of patients belonging to Ludhiana is 87,488, while 11,662 patients belong to other districts/states.

The total number of persons who lost their lives to the disease is 2,098 from Ludhiana and 1,049 from other districts.

Samples of 7,046 suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere to all safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab Government to not only save themselves, but also keeping everyone around safe.
