NHAI: Traffic black spots to be converted into white ones

After the Ludhiana traffic police ACP Gurdev Singh penned a book on the Top 10 black spots in the industrial hub where maximum people lost their lives in road mishaps, a senior official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Sukhbir Singh Sandhu today visited the black spots.

Sandhu assured to rectify all technical and infrastructural faults at the black spots and in coming few months, these would be converted into white spots.

Tenders will be floated in June to start the work at these spots and the work will be completed in minimum possible time, the Chairman told the ACP.

ACP (Traffic) said when he penned the book and submitted the same to the Police Commissioner, Ludhiana, the police wrote to the NHAI for immediate action.

“Now, I hope the work to convert these black spots into white will start soon and it will decrease the rate of accidents at these points,” he added.

Top 10 black spots in Ludhiana

Sahnewal bridge, Eastman Cast, Dhandari bridge, Dhandari bus stop, Samrala Chowk, Tajpur Chowk, Basti Jodhewal, Jalandhar Bypass, Kailash Nagar crossing and Near Green Land School are the 10 black spots in the Ludhiana Commissionerate.
